Liverpool Music Week was founded in 2003 by Mike Deane, and has gone onto become a nationally recognized event and highlight of the live music calendar, in order to push the event to even greater heights, last year a JV partnership was formed with one of the UK’s most prolific music industry figures, Cream CEO James Barton. The festival format is a combination of ticketed shows and a huge agenda of free shows, the event has attracted some of the UK’s biggest live acts as well as becoming a platform for new emerging talent who are set to become the stars of tomorrow, breakthrough artists such as The Wombats, Hot Club De Paris, and The Rascals alongside the likes of Kaiser Chiefs, The Chemical Brothers to name but a few.

As well as staging a huge agenda of live music events, Liverpool Music Week will also be running a series of panels and seminars featuring some of the UK’s music industry movers & shakers who will come together to discuss issues and opportunities within the sector and to offer advice and support to a range of related music businesses, artists and individuals with a desire to enter the music industry.

MTV Liverpool Music Week sponsored by edc by Esprit will culminate the city’s year as European Capital of Culture, this partnership combined with an award winning line up of acts performing will cement Liverpool’s position as the world’s capital of Music and celebrate what makes Liverpool great.
