The much anticipated solo album from Conor, accompanied by the Mystic Valley Band. The album was recorded in Tepoztlan, Morelos, Mexico earlier in the year where a temporary studio was created in a mountain villa. Expect to hear alot more about Conor this summer as he plays a selection of dates in the UK, including Reading & Leeds Festival, a London date at the Electric Ballroom on August 27th and a headline show at the End Of The Road festival in Dorset.
He releases the first single ‘Souled Out!!!’ from the album on 1st September.
The album is released on Wichita Recordings. You know Conor Oberst is one of those artists that I kind of have let wash over me. I have always enjoyed the Bright Eyes stuff and appreciated the genius of it. These new recordings have really grabbed me by the balls. I’m totally “Souled Out” - excuse the pun, awful I know. Maybe it’s the fact that I listen to music 24/7 now, but I’m kind of getting to the stage where I instinctively know when something is right. If this single is a benchmark then this is right in my book, I’m looking forward even more to seeing him at Hydro Connect on 29-31st August now.
