Introducing: Polly Scattergood

There seems to be a rich vein of young female singer-songwriters coming through in the UK at the moment. On Sunday, I was introduced to the talents of Polly Scattergood. Since then, I have been drawn back to listen over and over again. Her music is haunting and beautiful, simple yet lyrically rich. I’m totally sold on it!

Comparisons with Bjork will be drawn especially on the current single, “Nitrogen Pink”, available on Mute. There are many more strings to this girl’s bow than that though. Catch her live on the Introducing stage at Latitude, The Underage Festival, or if you are in London at the Water Rats in Kings Cross. You will either love her or hate her, I dont think there is room for anything in between…it’s far too intense. Personally, this is the most excited I have been about a new artist for a very long time. You cant help but listen!
