I’ve never pretended to know much about love. Truth be told, I’ll be turning 41 soon and seriously question if I’ve ever experienced it first-hand. With another Valentine’s Day less than 24 short hours away (and no one to share it with), I had the option of either rounding up the Lonely Hearts Club Band and sulking or tossing some positive vibes into the blogosphere. I chose the latter.
Anyone with half a heartbeat knows that sending flowers and a card to that special someone tomorrow is taking the easy way out. Why not a little effort into it this year and put together an assortment of some of your favorite songs and burn them a Valentine’s Mix?! I know, how emo of me…but seriously, the effort will definitely be appreciated.
Curiosity got the best of me and I asked the other contributors to put together a few songs they’d consider putting on a Valentine’s Mix. I thought I’d share it a day early with hopes it might inspire somebody out there to do the right thing. Let me know if you put something together…even if you don’t and have a song suggestion, leave it in the comments section.

Downloading!
Seriously though, I don’t get why people make such a big deal about Valentine’s Day. Although I guess the hype is bigger in the States than here in Sweden.

IMO, a day to celebrate love is a good thing. Commercial trappings aren’t required to commemorate the day.
Thanks for this song by the Delays–very nice. I posted the Moths! “Valentine” in my mix on Sunday, but I think my favorite of the love songs I posted is “Slave To Love” by Bryan Ferry, which I put up yesterday.
41, Kip? You have time. I became a newlywed at 55. :)
Happy love day to all!

What? You never loved me?! Now my Valentine’s Day is ruined for sure.

Dandy, I have loved…but I’m not sure I’ve ever been loved. In your case, I may have been to drunk to realize I was capable of even being loved.
Happy Valentine’s Day…and Happy forthcoming Birthday!!
