Dark Sparks formed on January 1st, 2007. The band consists of Leigh Greenwood, Adam Greenwood, Simon Green & Rich Kightley. Based in the small town of Swadlincote in South Derbyshire, they play music that is fiery, exciting and intelligent and therefore totally at odds with their surroundings!

They have shared the stage with Boy Kill Boy, The Enemy, The Whip, We Start Fires, The Departure, The Strange Death of Liberal England, The Hiss, The Courteeners, The Twang, Komakino, Louie and Air Traffic among others.

Dark Sparks

“Dark Sparks immediately take my aural hand and guide me to a far more exciting place… a passionate cry for attention, bass driven, pounding drum beats, as if Editors had the new youth drive of Bloc Party.” - Sandman

“With jangly guitars, gloriously furious drums, vocal harmonies and contagious lyrics Dark Sparks could prove to be something quite special. 4/5″ - High Voltage

“Think parts Interpol, with Bloc Party inspired bass rumblings and a thumping drum beat that is as noticeable as a bullet in the eye, and this goes some way to describe the Swadlincote songsters. Blood Petrol Fire is their signature track, and the likes of NME have been falling over themselves to praise them. Brilliant.” - Demos Reviewed:Top 20 songs of 2007
